CBY South Australia

Greetings from South Australia!  Here’s a bit about us…

Di and Tony

We Love Messiah

Hi,

We are Tony and Diane Schmidtke and we are humbled and overjoyed to lead the South Australia extension of Beth Yeshua Australia. Here’s our story.

For us it all began one Friday evening towards the end of 2011. Our son Daniel, his lovely wife,  and their two children came to share with us something we had never heard of:  Shabbat!

They had brought with them two small candles, some wine, and a beautiful hand-made plaited bread (a challah) and led us through a short service of giving thanks and praying for our family. It was beautiful and deeply resonated with us. We were instantly in! We knew that this simple honouring of Biblical Shabbat was something we had been searching for – that missing key to unlock a deeper walk with our Saviour and Messiah.

As part of our Messianic journey, we were blessed to visit Israel twice in the years that followed.  We studied our Bibles with a new understanding that our Messiah Yeshua, was and is, Jewish. We came to understand that God’s plan of salvation was laid out in Leviticus 23 – hidden in plain sight within His Feasts. We began organising Shabbat meetings and Feast gatherings for others keen to learn with us.

In 2016 we moved to Craigmore. This brought a new season of waiting on God and learning from Rabbi Greg Hershberg whom we had found on YouTube. We thrived on his teaching and just  “clicked” with his heart for helping the widow, orphan and grey-haired. Through Rabbi Greg we learned of CBY Australia. We contacted Arnie in Perth, and he invited us to celebrate Passover with his congregation in 2019.

The rest, as they say,  is His – Story.  God sealed the way – and here we are today.  If you would like to contact us you may phone Tony on: 0429 419 619.

Reaching Out

Simple acts of kindness done with much love

We now host a small gathering that celebrates Shabbat weekly at 10:30am, followed by a shared lunch and fellowship.

We celebrate God’s feasts as per Leviticus 23. We all love Yeshua and share a heart for the lost & hurting. We work together in unity.

Our local outreach touches the homeless, and victims of domestic violence. It extends to children in schools and those less fortunate.

We make and distribute blessing bags which are toiletry packs some of which go to teach children hygiene through the school well being programs. God has blessed us with this open door. We are involved with Hope Street an outreach community centre in an area of high unemployment and hardship. Hope Street receive blessing packs and food hampers to distribute to the needy who walk in their door.

Recently we have been able to contribute 100 pairs of socks, plus 60 toiletry packs to a school where they are needed. We will be providing continued support to this school. Its wonderful to see how staff are blessed when they are able to help these students. We don’t meet the students but are blessed by their beautiful thankyou cards.
